Open to students in grades 9 to 12. All applicants will be contacted for an audition and/or interview and will be asked to perform a contemporary monologue no longer than 3 minutes in length. Admission to the Senior Conservatory is based on the audition to be held at the end of May 2011. | ||

This intensive three-week program allows up to 12 students to study with professional theatre artists who maintain high profile careers in the Canadian theatre industry. Past directors and workshop leaders have included company members from the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Shaw Festival and Soulpepper Theatre Company.
Studies will focus on the discipline of acting including voice, character development, Shakespeare, movement, improvisation and the business of theatre.
Students will rehearse a play that will be performed over several evening performances at the end of the program.
Our senior theatre training program is recognized by the Ministry of Education. Students who successfully complete it will receive an open Grade 11 Drama in the Community credit towards their high school diploma.
Classes are held at The Country Day School in their comfortable air-conditioned studios, in King City, Monday to Friday for three weeks, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Their Performing Arts Centre is a state-of-the-art facility boasting a theatre, drama/music classrooms, wardrobe and set construction workshops and a classroom that has been specially designed for technical production instruction.
Tuition payment will be due after the audition upon acceptance into the program.

Theatre Caravel was founded by Eric Double and Julia Nish-Lapidus and it celebrated it's first anniversary in 2010. Eric was a student of Resurgence's Young Company from 1999 to 2001. He is now the Artistic Director of Theatre Caravel. Visit their website at: http://www.theatrecaravel.com

Congratulations to John-Michael Scapin, alumni student of Resurgence's Senior Youth Theatre Conservatory program, on winning Canada's first Triple Sensation, CBC's three-part reality special where talented Canadians aged 16 to 26 competed for a $150,000 scholarship from Indigo and Chapters to attend a world-class theatrical training institution of their choice anywhere in the world.
