If you’re thinking of pursuing a career in the performing arts and are looking for the right post secondary training program for you, Resurgence Theatre Company and the Ontario Arts Foundation invited students to participate in a half day theatre workshop hosted by Huron Heights Secondary School in Newmarket. The workshop included presentations by representatives from the following leading Ontario theatre school programs:

These representatives are directly involved in the audition process for their respective theatre programs. They offered valuable information about what you can expect from their program, the application process and what they’ll be looking for during your audition. In addition, they’ll provide helpful tips and answer questions. Resurgence Theatre Company also lead an audition technique workshop that offered advice on choosing the right audition monologue, what you can and should do to make sure you’re prepared, and relaxation techniques.
Admission was free and open to all York Region secondary school students on a first-come, first-serve basis. Space is limited. Priority will be given to students in grade twelve.
