SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK, IN 2009
Resurgence Theatre Company has launched its 2009 Season - with plans to stage two very different plays on the shores of Fairy Lake in Newmarket this summer. The Little Prince, adapted from the novella by Antoine de Saint Exupery, is a timeless tale of friendship. "I think it’s a story that’s close to our hearts," says director Kelly Straughan. "It’s a story that has depth, that tells us how we should live." Speaking to audiences of all ages, The Little Prince is not children’s theatre, Straughan says, but "imaginative theatre." The second play, presented as part of the York Shakespeare Festival, is Romeo & Juliet, starring Lara Jean Chorostecki and Shaun McComb. [ Read the article ]
