Resurgence Theatre Company and Southlake Regional Health Centre have struck a community partnership for an entertaining, one evening performance in support of the Regional Cancer Program at Southlake.
Southlake employs close to 3,000 people and many local businesses are either contractors to the hospital or provide complementary services," said Carriere. "Newmarket is a unique community; it has functioned as a trading centre for over 150 years," added Forhan. "The nature of trading has evolved and Newmarket's future urban form will be a cluster of technology, academics, and professional services." "These talented individuals will play a vital role in the development of Southlake’s future as a teaching and research facility." Forhan agrees and says, "These dynamic individuals will want access to state-of-the-art community facilities and programs; energy-filled, attractive outdoor public spaces where people meet and share stories; and places where people can be entertained by Arts and Culture festivals in vibrant venues." Resurgence Theatre Company is in its’ 11th Season. Each summer they bring the brightest professional actors and production crews from cross Canada to deliver professional caliber theatre under a tent in Fairy Lake Park. Over 50,000 people have attended the festival since its debut in 1998. "The health sector and the arts sector are two vibrant pillars of Newmarket's economic agenda," said Carriere.
