AUDIENCE FEEDBACK - 2007 York Shakespeare Festival

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who completed our survey. We'd like to share with you, a few comments received. Your feedback will help us in our planning for next year.
| In response to our question: How important is it to you to have access to performing arts events in your community (or region)? |
| "Artistic talent is not limited to the big cities! It is so refreshing to have polished and professional productions here in town. .....a great contribution to community life." |
| "Having the opportunity to see live theatre without having to travel to Toronto and also be able to afford to go! Also, to introduce live theatre to children more importantly - there is life beyond computers, video games and hollywood movies. Once bitten by the Theatre bug, there's no telling on how far anyone's dreams can take them." |
| "I enjoy live theatre and frequently make the long journey down to Toronto for that purpose. I have been thrilled and proud to have this outstanding professional theatre so close to home saving me so much travel time.. The plays I see at Fairy Lake are amongst the best I see each year." |

| In response to our question: As a public service, Resurgence Theatre Company offers performance skills and educational workshops for local schools involving some of our guest artists. How important is this to you? |
| "I like to know that this is available for all children not just families that can afford it." |
| "If children gain an understanding of background aspects of theatre, they will be enriched, intrigued, and as adults will support the arts in their community with genuine personal interest." |
| "Students need to be exposed to the performing arts. Not all students want to participate in sports and there seems to be far too much emphasis placed on sports in our schools and society in general." |
| "Development of young talent is an important part of helping young people meet their goals." |
| In response to our question: Overall, how can we make the York Shakespeare Festival a better theatre experience for you in the future? |
| "Better chairs or perhaps better chair pads." |
| "We like to picnic in the park before the show. A few more picnic tables in the park would be great. Better toilet facilities nearby would be good (they have some marvelous flush rental trailers available if it is feasible). Overall, we really enjoy the theatre every year at Fairy Lake." |
| "You did a great job with the tentless venue. Gardens really were lovely. I really enjoy good theatre so I loved my experience. Maybe a pay what you can or rush for seniors on the day following your opening day.." |
| "Outside" noise was a bit distracting. Even given these minor concerns it was an absolutely fantastic performance. BRAVO!!!!!" |
