A founding member of Toronto's Soulpepper Theatre Company, Joseph most recently directed Widowers' Houses (Shaw Festival) and performed in Kingfisher Days (Tarragon Theatre). Productions for Soulpepper include: (as director) The Winter's Tale, Present Laughter, and Our Town; (as actor) Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, Absolutely Chekov, and Amolphe in School for Wives. Other directing credits inlcude: How I Learned to Drive and Patience (CanStage), The Two Mrs. Carrolls, and The Shop at Sly Corner (Shaw Festival), as well as Hamlet for the Stratford Festival. Acting credits include: Skylight (Tarragon Theatre), Hamlet (Citadel Theatre), Macbeth (Theatre For a New Audience, NYC), five seasons at Stratford and four at Niagara-on-the-Lake.
