The Duke of Vienna, unable to keep control of the city from the thrown, decides to disguise himself and observe his government and people from the trenches. He turns his power over to the seemingly virtuous Angelo who adopts a relentless campaign to cleanse the city of injustice. However, Angelo’s true nature is revealed when he becomes consumed with desire for Isabella, a novice nun. Can Isabella’s goodness hold true when forced to choose between her chastity and her brother’s life?

Drama and laughter collide in this rarely seen treat directed by one of Canada's most acclaimed artists, Rosemary Dunsmore (director of All's Well That Ends Well for the Utah Shakespeare Festival and Hedda Gabler for the Atlantic Theatre Festival).
